In My Shoes
For at least the first 15 years of my life, being the "tall girl" seemed to have very few perks. Standing at 5'1" in fourth grade, kids relentlessly called names, compared me to giant, unflattering animals, and it seemed all of the boys believed the extra inches came with extra cooties. Furthermore, my long thin limbs lended themselves poorly to coordination. I can't really blame anyone for the "baby giraffe" comparisons. However, as I grew up in age and length, I learned to carry my height well. Coordination and grace improved and I fell in love with my length (despite the still persistent giraffe comments). I excelled in sports leading to a competitive and ready-for-challenge attitude that now carries into everything I do. Even then however, I went through most of high school slouching with a phobia of high heels. Finally, now, I fully embrace all six feet and one inch and have learned to use it for all of the potential it possesses, which has brought me now into the modeling industry. To use my length, attitude, and learned grace for industry, art, and influence has become both a growing passion and ambition of mine. Creating confidence out of my greatest insecurity is something that I feel I can share with people universally, and I feel modeling lends me the perfect circumstance to do so. I look forward to the opportunities this industry holds for me and am excited for these future endeavors.
